Meet Your Hostess

Alexandra Carlson

The Mariposa Teahouse Monarch

Hi! I’m Alexandra, the creator of Mariposa Teahouse.

Although a long time dream, I am just embarking on this adventure of hosting teas and I invite you to enjoy the fruits of this labor!

To me, tea is personal. Growing up in San Diego, I attended tearooms with my Grandma Darlene frequently. Sometimes we would have tea parties for events with family, but it was also just as a pleasant way to spend an afternoon together. Many a time growing up, when asked how I’d like to celebrate a momentous occasion, I’d suggest going for tea!

Through my love for tea and passion for the beauty of an afternoon tea service, I have been inspired to dip my teaspoon into the waters of hosting and sharing this experience in my new home of Lynnville, Tennessee. My hope is to create a destination for celebrations and afternoons with Grandma, but also to foster a place for women to find community and make friendships that transcend the Teahouse.

Teas are hosted just south of Columbia, on our property at Carlson Farm. The Farm is a respite for my husband and I from the busy hustle and bustle of modern life and I hope you find that same peace during your time here, surrounded by the sounds and sights of nature and the resident animals of our hobby farm.

For the time being, the living room of our home is transformed into a charming country tearoom for events. We can accommodate up to 16 people in this venue for a seating.

I look forward to filling your teacup soon!
